Les Dames d’Escoffier is a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. In the interest of sustainable agriculture, Les Dames’ Seattle chapter has invited Alliance for Puget Sound Natural Resources to explore a potential partnership in the creation of “Watershed Soup”. The possibilities for collaboration are many, ranging from creating recipes to generating awareness through social media.
The soup concept is envisioned as a branded product from ingredients sourced from farmers in Puget Sound whose stewardship practices enhance land and water quality - especially for salmon and shellfish habitats. This unique soup product will engage consumers to recognize and appreciate local farmland stewards, including the behind-the-scenes stories that promote sustainable farming practices. Les Dames is hosting a meeting to explore “Watershed Soup” including a soup tasting in June.
